Meet one of JPEF’s 54 featured Jewish partisans as they share their stories of loss, resistance, survival, and perseverance with video testimonials, images and documents, and a short biography. These unique stories tell of partisan activities in Poland, Russia, Greece, Italy, France, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Ukraine and other countries.

Eugenio Gentili-Tedeschi

In Milan, Eugenio and his friends tore down the antisemitic propaganda posters, their first act of resistance in that city. Eugenio later joined a partisan unit and kept the mountain trails open for the Allies, preventing German reinforcements from reaching the front lines in France. An artist, he drew scenes from partisan life while still in his unit.
