Transcript: Where I was in with the Russian partisans was named after Stalin, it was the Stalinskya Brigade. And I would say the brigade must have had at least around a thousand people, I would say; a thousand members brigade. But I would say 99 percent were Russian or Ukrainians that escaped from the prisoner of war camps, and very few Jews. Because it was a problem, that they -- in many cases when the Jews escaped from the ghetto and wanted to join the Partisans -- they didn't want to accept them. They had trouble. They had to demand it from them get their own ammo, rifles or whatever it is. But there was a problem for Jewish partisans and that's why there were a lot of Jewish groups that were separate like the Bielski brigade. And I remember it was not far from where I was stationed with the Russians.
