Transcript: And a lot of forests in my, my part of the country, huge forests that, once you're in the forest, they're not gonna find you. You know, the key was to find firearm. Firearm was the biggest, it's the most valuable item at that time, even in the ghetto. You couldn't- see, in Europe, people have to realize, the laws did not allow to own firearm. The only way you can get a revolver, you had to get a permit to get. And that was very, permits were not issued unless you're a policeman or some official. So, not have a firearm, where you gonna go? You can't run. You know, so some, what they did, they invaded or they'll attack a German garrison or police station. At the risk of their own life, they'll go, that's what happened. At the risk of their own life, they'll go in, and whatever they could capture, they captured. And that's how the initial bands of partisans started.
