Transcript: First of all, the Germans were brutal to the Russian POWs. They, the same camp, the 16,000 in the '41, every morning you could hear a machine gun going. By the time the winter was over, there was only 500 left. They died, they killed 'em off, they, there was, they had no place to keep 'em. So, the waste of life, they wanna know why they get shot. Some of 'em succeeded escaping, with the POW camp, some escaped from maybe work camp. So, they go into the woods, you know, they had some military training already. These are, these were the nucleus of, of the POW, of the partisans.
