Leon Senders - Mistaken identity
Transcript: When I, I lived in eh, in Gandel, in the German part of, of Lithuania, I had a, a farmer that knew about me and he was keeping me down there. So, I was sitting there and eating and eh, there was a German, a German soldier, I don't know an officer or something like this that was working there, especially to look for me. They, they knew that there was a radio operating, but they just couldn't find me. So, he goes into that house and sees me at the table, and I was dressed like a shepherd, you know, the, the torn things and, eh, and he goes out and he wants something to eat. He tells the farmer that he wants to eat something and then he says (speaks German), which means, "I wouldn't eat on the same table with that Lithuanian swine; take him away." And he takes me, the, the guy, the sel, the German and throws me out because he wouldn't eat with, with a Lithuanian swine. I said “thank you” (laughs).
