Transcript: First, everything that I remembered, everything was covered with snow. Of course, we could not, and didn't have the opportunity, of building something, in order to prevent the Germans from seeing them. We also didn't have the practical means. We were sometimes lucky because the shepherds in Slovakia in these areas had shacks in the mountains in the spring and summer, and the beginning of fall, they would live in these shacks with their flock. In the winter, they were abandoned and we, if we found them, would enter them. At least basically, we had a roof over our heads. Of course, it was extremely cold because the wood did not contain our heat. We couldn't heat anything, and there was nothing to heat. But even there was, it was forbidden to light a fire so that the Germans would not see the flames. If we didn't find these things, and that was most of the time, then we simply slept under the fir and pine trees. Everyone found a fir or pine tree, placed something down, and slept under the snow-covered pines and firs. On the snow, on the snow.
