Transcript: I became a very good friend, a guy was about 19-years-old, and we became, in fact, he was teaching me Italian, how to speak Italian. And as we were running to and attacking, a mortar shrapnel cut off his head! And his body was still going, sort of moving, like taking steps. I looked over, and inside, in my mind, I was crying. My soul was crying. My hate was almost unbearable. And we took out these Germans, but didn't, it didn't give the answer, why this good friend, this good guy, this nice, beautiful Italian fella, he was two steps away from me, and why the, how do you call the, the explosion, that piece of metal cuts off his head, him, and not me? But that's how it was. That's why I'm here.
