Transcript: So we finally met up with my brother, and we walked the family over into, it was, we only could walk at night, see? And we joined up, we walked maybe about 30, 40 kilometers, you know, a couple days. Then we joined up with a partisan group already, that was being organized to be sent to our area in the forest, you know. By that time we decided, since my brother was somewhat already a pro in this, we were being sent out to a more dangerous area, you know, into the area where we come from. You know, past Glubokie and deeper into the front, the German area, where they were in a small area, was already a partisan territory. The partisans had already multiplied and larger and larger partisan groups developed, you know, and they already had territories that was occupied by the partisans, and was controlled by the partisans, until the Germans sent a big division of SS troops, and then they came to occupy it, we technically controlled the whole hinterland area. But once in a while they'll invade the area, they'll burn down the villages, and just like what we did in Vietnam. You know, they call it search and destroy missions. And then by the time we pull out, the partisans are back again. See, they couldn't catch anybody. Anyway, we left them in that, in that area, we thought that's controlled by the partisans, and, and we went into, deeper into the dangerous area. By few, a few months later...maybe it was a couple weeks later, the Germans did invade the area, and they, somebody squealed and, and then, they, they arrested my mother... they took my mother and my brother and later shot them. We didn't see 'em, but we got wind later, a few months later my brother went back to the same area, tried to find out what happened, and that's what they told us. So, we lost them.
